Aerex Industries, Inc. manufactures a complete line of ASME code rated cartridge filter vessels for the municipal membrane treatment industry. Fabricated in both vertical and horizontal configurations, these vessels will range from 16” to 60” in diameter and house 30”, 40” and 50” long standard 2 ½” diameter cartridge filters. Holding “S”, “U” and “R” code stamps, Aerex will use its 17 years of experience in a wide variety of automatic and manual welding processes; CNC and conventional machining, plasma cutting, bending and rolling; and finishing treatments that include pickling, passivation, bead blasting and electropolishing to manufacture the finest cartridge filter vessels available.
The Aerex cartridge filter vessels will be manufactured of 316L stainless steel for municipal nanofiltration, low pressure and high pressure brackish water treatment plants as well as AL6XN or other exotic high corrosive resistant alloys of stainless steel for seawater treatment applications. For industrial applications, the vessels can also be manufactured of carbon steel. The vessels will be rated from 100 psi to over 300 psi with the standard being 150 psi up to 250°F. Closure bolts are available in 316 stainless steel as well as coated carbon steel. Aerex will utilize compatible material components with 316 stainless steel bolts to ensure gall free operation.
Standard features of all vessels will be adequately sized drains (minimum 2” diameter), vents and pressure gauge connections, stainless steel supports, bead blast and passivation (inside and out) and mechanical and hydraulic cover lift assemblies utilizing roller bearings on larger sizes for ease of cover opening and closing. Special cover lift (davit) designs are available for assistance opening and closing the covers of larger and high pressure vessels.
The unique feature of the Aerex cartridge filter vessel is the elimination of the bottom seat cup. By machining the vessel separator plate (tube sheet), Aerex’s design will allow the use of both single open end (SOE) cartridges with 222 O-rings or double open end (DOE) elements with a knife edge seal. This revolutionary design will permit the use of cartridge tube guides for either SOE or DOE cartridges. By removing the seat cup, Aerex has eliminated the potential source of raw water bypass due to the cups metal to metal contact loosening or sheering of the seat cup itself during service.
